Mission

To provide a meaningful instrumental music education to the students of Martin Middle School according to the guidelines set forth by the

National Standards for Music Education.

Leadership

Under the direction of Mrs. Pimentel, the award winning Martin Middle School band program offers several ensembles for student participation: The Teamsters Band, The Wildcat Concert Band, and the MMS Jazz Ensemble. For students desiring other experience, the Chamber Ensembles provide an outlet for small ensemble performance. In addition, an annual summer band program is offered in July.

The MMS Department of Music is a division of the East Providence Schools Department of Music. The citizens of East Providence have long maintained a tradition of pride and excellence in the school music programs. Students who successfully participate in Martin's band program are encouraged to continue in the EPHS band program as well as in civic ensembles beyond high school.
